It is a little heavy but thats an advantage because it stays put while you are slicing. It slices cheese and vegetable, it slices semi frozen meat and it will slice non frozen also, all with great ease. I will have to find someone local to sell this to so that I can buy something actually usable.Įxcellent machine, was hesitant to buy but so glad i did. Also not that that due to the design of the guard, you only get 4 inches of depth on whatever is being sliced (photo 3). Also note that even though this is a 10 inch slicer, there is only about 7 inches of travel in the carriage meaning you can't slice bacon whole without gymnastics. My advice is to not buy a slicer that has the carriage tilted back unless it is higher up on the blade. Additionally, the carriage is not able to be aligned such that it doesn't rub the far edge of the casing which further hinders the ability to make a complete cut (photo 2). And when you do push through, the bottom corner of the slice is so low that it gets sucked into the blade (photo 1). The primary foundational flaw is that the carriage doesn't move far enough to actually cut the slice off of the hunk that is being sliced (photo 1). I am so dissatisfied and disappointed in this purchase. While it looks great, feels well built, and solid, this slicer has a couple glaring flaws that make me seriously regret the purchase and saddened that I didn't use it enough to figure this out during the return window.
